Heptonstall is an impressive medieval village, with weavers cottages an other ancient buildings, including the dramatic ruined church. Heptonstall has two pubs, The White Lion and The Cross Inn , a cafe (Towngate Tearoom)and a post office, all close together towards the bottom of the road through the vilage, Smithwell Lane.
